UNIVERSE CITY NYC × CORNELL UNIVERSITY ART, ARCHITECTURE, & PLANNING (AAP) NEW YORK PRESENT “ON BEING PROPERTY ONCE MYSELF (PART 2): UNIVERSE CITY NYC ECOLOGIES” LIVE FROM UNIVERSE CITY NYC
You are invited to join us for the Universe City NYC × Peter Robinson Cornell University AAP NYC end of semester celebrations on Wednesday, 7 December 2022 from 6-9p at 234 Glenmore Avenue, Brooklyn 11207.
The Fall 2022 Peter Robinson Studio, Housing + Property: On Being Property Once Myself, partnered with Universe City NYC (“UC”) – an ecological public health laboratory in East NY, Brooklyn's Industrial Business Zone – with a mission to ensure generational equity through urban farm education and entrepreneurship development.
The Cornell AAP students – architects and planners – worked alongside the Universe City Executive team to create types of cogitative maps that revealed the interconnections of the partnerships and principles that inform the organization’s community practices. In preparation for this final review, the students worked collaboratively with their respective UC project partners to co-create 1:1 scale interventions that builds on the UC mission.
We invite you to share in this day - loosely themed as an After Property/ After Party – it suggests a radical reframing of the final review event as a space for new types of socializations that center communion with community wisdom. The 2022 Robinson Studio at Cornell AAP is:
KLYTAIMNISTRA AVGETIDOU, GEENA JASMINE BABER, DANA FRANCINE HERRAULT, SHHRRUTI JAIN, TREVOR KEITA JENSEN, DEVIN PERLO, THOMAS LIAV PETLUCK, PHASIT RATTANACHAISIT, NJILLAN TISBEH SARRE, SARAH LARISSA STANZI + AUBREY MICHELLE STERLING
If you can't make it, this special event will be live broadcast on MIDHEAVEN.Network and universecity.nyc. Join us from any internet-connected device at 6p EST.
We look forward to your participation.

You are invited to join the third of four East New York NY Industrial Business Zone (ENY IBZ) Public Site Visioning Sessions that East New York Community Land Trust (ENYCLT), Universe City NYC and Grow Brownsville are hosting on four sweet Saturdays from 2—5p: 30 July, 20 August, 15 October & 12 November 2022 at Universe City NYC (234 Glenmore Avenue 11207).
We are convening organizations, businesses and residents to share ideas and collaboratively dream of what should happen on 7 vacant lots currently owned by New York City’s Economic Development Corporation, Police Department & Department of Homeless Services. We will use these visioning sessions to 1) create a detailed plan for the sites, 2) fight for the city to transfer these lots to the Community Land Trust and 3) advocate for city, state & federal funding to implement the plan.
