WE ARE EARTH FARMS

Introducing the WAE  movement: A multi faceted operation featuring high yield vertical farms, a plant based beverage program, and a wellness brand incubator hub. WAE serves as a social and food justice nexus that centers marginalized communities in our collective growth.

This is not business as usual, WAE is a hub for agricultural abundance that facilitates community healing and empowerment. Our grassroots minded media  and technology partners increase individuals' access to cross sections of food, medicine, and cultural enrichment.

When the doors open members and guests will enjoy seminars, workshops, podcast productions, installations co-produced by AFROPUNK, plant based bites, cold press juices, apothecary goods made with produce harvested from our GROWBOX™ projects. Diving deeper, enterprising individuals are invited to explore financing their own GROWBOX™, cooperative production, trainings, and bringing goods to market with us.

WE ARE EARTH (WAE) founder SirRoan Smiley

Brings over a decade of experience in sustainable systems design, food and beverage, eco-construction, product development, and brand consultation. He is an accomplished herbalist and has served as a lead developer and partnered with established institutions and brands such as Afropunk, Dropping Seeds,7one8 Designs, High Times, Violet Hills Farms, and EartH20. After ten years of working in tandem with the agriculture industry, SirRoan Smiley is revolutionizing the field with the creation of a decentralized farm operation in which community members will be the primary growers, distributors, and producers of nutrient dense foods and wellness products. SirRoan dreamed up WAE after recognizing the need for the inclusion of diversified perspectives in the sustainability and natural food and medicine production industries. WAE is a direct response to the privatized top down model under which our agriculture and food distribution industries operate. SirRoan tackles barriers such as land ownership and access to financial resources by eliminating the need for land purchase, building relationships with existing farmers, and implementing wealth and resource sharing models. SirRoan has built community resilience, economic and racial inclusion, and food sovereignty into the fabric of WAE’s operating design. WAE’s pilot farm site is located in East New York, Brooklyn minutes away from SirRoan’s home. The pilot farm site will carry out the mission of distributing nutrient dense foods, economic opportunities, and health and nutrition education to members of the East New York community.  SirRoan attended Brooklyn College majoring in Media and Communications. In addition to being the founder WAE, SirRoan continues to expand his herbalist practice and is a member of Decriminalize New York.
